That's where I am getting lost. I only have 2 wires coming from the ceiling box. With the wall switch off there's no power on either the black or white. With the switch on I have 110 on the black and 0 on white

Found it. Pulled the fixture down and the neutral was not in the wire nut. I can't for the life of me figure that one out, but problem solved. Thanks guys

So in my hall I have a light that is wired thru a 3 way switch. Yesterday when I turned on 1 of the switches the light didn't turn on. I just thought it was the bulb. So I replaced the bulb and nothing. So I pulled one of the switches and i'm only getting 80 volts. I pulled the other switch...

Well the power originates at the switch. So I tapped into the light wiring and dropped romex for the outlet. So the outlet won't be hot unless the light is on, which won't be a big problem really. Thanks everyone for the help.

The switch has 3 white wires all wire nutted together. I haven't pulled the light fixture off yet, doing that this afternoon

I'm going to check that this afternoon. The problem is, the light fixture is directly above where the outlet is going, so I can just drop Romex from there. The switch is on the opposite wall so I have no way of getting to that wiring behind the wall.
