    brick patio edging?

ok so on the North side of my deck I have a 6'+ section before a slope starts. This is where the top of a 3 tier flower box is setup - soon to add a 2nd set parallel to that with steps in between (hope you all can visualize that). Anyhow here is my dillema - the flower boxes are ~12 inches...

    Stairs - oak risers /tread

I put in my last tread a few weeks ago (not that carpet is out of that area) and I cut it a tad short <1/8" :( . Any suggestions on masking this small gap? Since it meets with a wall here I was thinking maybe a little mud to mate then caulk it like all the others..

    Just removed spring weeds

Is it too late plant seeds for pansies - most of them at the store suggest 8 weeks before last freeze. I suppose I can do what my mom used to do - toss a couple bags of seed in the freezer in soil for a day or so - but I can't imagine if I can just plant them directly outside (even though...

My kitchen is a G-Shape (well depending on the font ) - this weekend i removed the large L shaped portion and dismanntled to put each in a straight line. This turned out to open up the floor plan immensly and I have the same amount of counterspace. However the face styles of the two...

    Just removed spring weeds

    Fire Ants

While I'm not an expert... I Have dealt with carpenter ant - the most effective was buying a bottle of the powdered boric acid mix (often sells as roach killer - and I think the rest of the mix is a silica that scratches their ectoskeletan). I sprayed (it's a squeeze bottle and the powder sprays...

Anyone else hate the planned communities?

I live on one of these neighborhoods - it's the only way to get into a newer home over here these days - unless you pay the cash to buy land and then have a 'custom' house built. (something I might do later I think). It's my 1st home, got it in 2000 when I was 27. I don't think the HOA...

How much does an acre cost in your area?

ranges from 20k to 120k - serious. This is true for almost all of the puget sound on the seattle side.

    Just removed spring weeds

I just found out from a few local companies - I described my situation and they asked me if I got my soil and bark from companyX... and indeed I did - companyX is apparently once of the main problems for many people. I'll once again revamp that area with new bark from companyY or CompanyZ...

    Just removed spring weeds

Hi I'm new to this site! Looks great so far :-) and exactly what I was looking to join. Ok let me give a timeline and then on to the questions: 6+ years ago - previous owner tossed down caseron and nothing would grow in my 40x30 area (more like 80x80 but I'm working with 40x30 right now)...
