I have been trying to grow grass for years and haven't had a lot of success (too shady). I read that Ajuga is invasive so I am letting it invade. It's in bloom now and looks good. I may let the seeds mature before I mow (unless the lawn becomes too shaggy). If not it's spreading pretty fast by runners. If it crowds out everything else I don't think it will require mowing.

I don't get why so many people have grass instead of a groundcover like Ajuga. Grow it! Clover too. Doesn't need as much mowing (if any).
