Out of 250 Canadian Business Leaders surveyed... Jobs for the US, that wasn't even the intended purpose of the Tariffs.

"Almost two-thirds (65 per cent) took pre-emptive action, preparing for potential tariffs by shipping goods or products to the U.S. before President Trump’s inauguration, the KPMG survey finds. Forty-eight per cent also plan to shift their investments to the U.S. and set up operations or production south of the 49th parallel to serve the U.S. market and reduce costs."

There is Thousands upon Thousands of Illegals that fly to Canada and head South. Not as many as from Mexico, but it's much more than 1550. The point of the Tariffs is that Trudeau has never done anything about it.

I don't know who replaces him, but if they actively help the US, then the Tariffs go away.
granted that some stuff goes across the border from canada. however that is a tiny fraction compared to what comes across the mexico border

just so that you know
#3 - 60% of crude oil imported into the U.S. comes from Canada - more than 4 million barrels/day - representing one-quarter of the daily intake of US refineries. Importing more than 4 million barrels of Canadian crude oil every day, American refineries rely on Canadian crude as a cornerstone of their operations.
Trump has imposed a 10% tariff on that oil .
MY american friends gas up today because wednesday morning expect gas prices to go up

None of this is about Canada helping with Fires or the start of the First Special Service Force in WWII that would become the Canadian and American Special Forces or helping store Airplanes after 9/11... None of that has anything to do with the current Canadian PM.

What do they say about when he's ousted?

the border is a two way street . for example
Statistics. From January 2017 to March 2018, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police intercepted 25,645 people crossing the border into Canada illegally. Public Safety Canada estimated that another 2,500 came across in April 2018 for a total of just over 28,000, of which 1,000 had been removed from Canada.
What did the usa do to stop this , nothing

The tariffs will hurt the poor and middle class and will cost him support. Some in congress, elected with a small margin , may find it hard to support him.

Well, the point is the tariffs won't last because the Countries will cede to the demands. It's simple enough for Canada and Mexico to supply lots of help in manpower for the borders, and it's simple enough for China to stop the manufacturing of Fentanyl.

China already has an instant Death penalty for Drug dealers, so one crack of Xi's whip, and that stops.

We will see, but there's nothing from China that I need.

As I drove past a Hyundai car dealer (right here in the Motor City) and saw the copious quantity of cars I wondered why that guy didn't put Korea on his tariff list.

Is he picking and choosing his enemies and which bridges to burn?

A General Motors truck that I am considering is made in Mexico and will have a tariff. Same for a Ford under consideration.

Guess what imported auto will not have a tariff caused price increase?
Hyundai. The price versus Ford and GM just got much more attractive.

Me? How about no tariffs and let the consumer decide what to purchase. (Nobody's ever going to convince me that imposing tariffs will have any impact on drug smuggling or illegal border crossings.)

For The Record: My "All American" Chevrolet car was made in Mexico and has 97.6% non-United States or Canadian components. My GMC Sierra was made in Canada.

They gotta have mandatory retirement at 75 unless the person can pass cognition / speaking tests... The Donald would pass easily of course, Biden would have failed in the extreme category, McConnell had 2 strokes or something like that while speaking, and he's still there... Feinstein was wheeled in where she voted and then said she was there the whole time despite being gone for weeks before she died, Pelosi is headed down that same road with her Broken hip...

They want to hold onto power, which I don't understand... If I was elected to Congress at 40 and was Evil, I would take as much lobbyist cash as possible, vote however they told me to, get rich as I could, Have a couple of Chinese Hookers as my aides, then take off my tie, flip 2 Birds to DC and the American people, retire at 55 or earlier, and go Fishing for the rest of my life... They wouldn't be able to find me to indict me because I would change my name and appearance along with my entire family, and I would cut off everybody else because I was just using them anyway because I'm Evil.

Bob Menendez missed his chance.
I'M SHOCKED, I mean, even me?

Is that Hyundai made here?
The Santa Cruz mini-trucks of interest to me are made in Korea. Most of the car models sold in the U.S. are also made in Korea.

In 2005 Hyundai opened a plant in Alabama to assemble 4 or 5 car models, as well as some engines. The parts are still primarily Korean, but at least they are providing 4,000+ in the U.S.

In 2025, a "Mega Plant" will open in Georgia to build EVs.

Ironically, when Hyundai was a new company, their cars were built by Ford and sold only in Korea.

Korea isn't screwing the USA over.

The now paused Mexican tariffs have already paid off with a Cartel boss being arrested, when the Mexican authorities did absolutely nothing during the last admin.

When I was a Toyota line mechanic back in 1970, they started selling cars here in 1968, they had Chevrolet engines in some of them. But Ford owned part of Toyota.
