My question before about adding a dimmer to a 4-way configuration was helpful. As it turns out, I miscounted the switch locations and there are only three.

Anyway, I finally got around to playing with switches again today, and was able to determine that the most-used location was a three-way switch. Yay! (There was a UPC bar code on the switch and I googled it.)

I put the 3-way dimmer on and initially it didn't work. I figured I got Common wrong and swapped it with another wire and it worked perfectly. Except now the other two locations I have not touched yet don't work. I should say they work by not allowing the dimmer work if flipped, but they don't turn on the light.

What have I got wrong?

You still have the wrong wire on the common or you need to rewire the other locations depending on the dimmer. Some of the new dimmers don't get wired like a traditional 3way with a common and two travellers.
