So my wife and I just bought our first home. The problem with it is, the colors of our house, (in our opinion) are hideous: (here's hoping img tags work)

Along with a ton of the current tenant's junk.

We figured we'd paint the siding/trim, but are having a hard time getting colors that work with the (ugly) yellowish brick. This is a quick mockup of the best we've come up with so far:

Our style is modern/contemporary despite the house not being that. Hey it's our first, the dream house doesn't come til, #3, right?

Anyway, any suggestions?

Blue might look good with the yellow. It's oposite yellow on the "color wheel".

I like your selection - looks pretty contemporary, despite the non-contemporary style of the house :)

You might also try slate blue for the body, and muted orange for the shutters.
