My foundation is blocks. My house is a semi.

On the 2 corners of my side, there is a chunk of concrete about 4 inches thick, sticking out about 2 feet. I cannot tell if its part of the foundation or not. It does not make sense for it to even be there.

Any thoughts?

It’s part of the charm, mystery, puzzle, Ripley’s believe it or not, of owning a pre owner home. I have scratched my head a 100 times over why something was the way it was.

If you post a photo maybe we can help figure it out.

I have a concrete elephant in the front yard that’s about 2’tall. That’s not the mystery. The mystery is why is it attached to a footing that is about a half a yard of concrete below grade.

If it is a footing depth it might have thought to be a later garage or just a measuring mistake.
