Hey first time poster here. I am looking for some advice. I have very little storage space in my house and there is a open attic area over my bonus room that is inaccessible currently. I am wondering if I can cut the roof support and add a header and maybe extra support on either side to make a doorway into the bonus room attic. Any advice on if this can be done without compromising the structural integrity? I have some pictures and video coming....

Take a picture of the top of the stud you would like to take out. It may not need a header for that hole.

Ok it is the one with the arrow pointing to it.
It is hard to figure the angles, at first I thought it was a wall, now I think it is a rafter.
If it is a rafter you would want to double the rafter on each side with doubles between them above and below the hole just like cutting thru a floor.
