We're having our kitchen tiled. We've been given the choice of Fiberock or Ditra xl underlay, with a strong preference for the Fiberock by the supplier. Can anyone explain what would make it a better choice over the Ditra, or has anyone worked with it?

Thanks in advance.

The Ditra supplies a separation from the subfloor because it's structure allows for movement. If you have cracks in your subfloor that have resulted from shifting or settling, then the Ditra can help that cracking from translating into tile cracks.............assuming a concrete subloor. You prob won't get any advantage on a wood subfloor.
