When I woke up this morning, I turned on the bathtub faucet, but once I switched it over to the hot side, water stopped coming out (as if I was putting it into the off position).

I just recently changed my showerhead with one of those that has a 6ft cord on it...not sure if that is related.

When you changed over your new showerhead, did you turn off any valves anywhere in your house to stop the water? Did you turn off the water at your water heater?

Are you saying that when you turn on the cold water, everything is fine. But if you turn off the cold water and turn on the hot water, nothing comes out?

Maybe you shut down something when you changed your shower head. Have you double checked everything?

What type/brand faucet is this?
Sounds like it could be a malfunction/sticking of the pressure balancing unit.
In which case you'll have to disassemble the faucet and free it up.
