Although we recently replaced our automatic Garage Door Opener, this problem predated the installation.
The door will not open fully when using the door opener, either the new or the old opener. It is a large two car garage door, sectional type, and wood and it opens freely when by hand. The door was recently balanced, but it failed to correct this problem.
As it opens the door stalls. If you were to stand in front of it when it opens it stops about knee height and then again at shoulder height.
There are a few indications of "rubbing" on the door where it appears to be scraping as it opens.
Is this the source of my problems? How is this corrected?

Thanks
Flavin

Suggest you get the people who installed the opener to come back and fix it. If the door opens freely by hand, they obviously mounted something wrong.
