Garage entry way

What can I do with this stair set to help keep down some of the dirt getting in my house! The small mat isn’t doing it.

Kick off your shoes in the garage.

We have family members that have a very nice home and we take our shoes off in the garage. I suggested they make a better area there and provide a bench to sit on to put shoes back on, but so far no rug or bench so i wear slip on shoes when I go over. Our house we enter from the kitchen thru a mud room where we have a bench and a place for shoes.

If your question is about dirt being tracked in, is it up the steps or down the steps?

Remove your shoes.

If it's being blown in, then install a threshold and a door sweep.

Add pieces of carpet/mat to each of the treads. That’ll help pull off some of the dirt.
