Has anyone used a bathtub tile flange add on kit?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has used a bathtub tile flange add on kit? We are remodeling our bathroom and would like to keep the original drop in tub it has for an alcove tub. I've seen a few tile flange kits we can add to it to "convert" it to an alcove tub. But I haven't seen very many reviews on how well the product works. When we build houses the plumber has the tub delivered and we build the suround and when this style of tub is going up against the wall they come from the supplier with that flange installed.
I haven't seen it done any other way but have no idea how it stands up over time. But you will be caulking the tile there too, so I doubt you would have a problem with it.
