I have a 1952 SF living area home with a no brand name split air condition system. The condenser was replaced five years ago and the air handler is 17 years old. I have extremely high electric bills because the AC runs all the time. My attic is well insulated and I have insulated windows and solar screens as well as shutters. I suspect the airhandler was not replaced because the previous owners did not want to spend the extra money. If the air handler is not the correct one that goes with teh condensor could this be the problem?

Thanks
Mark

Typically split systems can be mix&match when it comes to the evaporator and condensor ends. Although some attention should be given to the ratings of the mixed components.
Your system should not run all the time. Are you sure your thermostat is working properly?
