We will be renovating our guest bathroom which is pretty small. One question is to how to pick the right toilet. The photo shows what we have now. The rough-in size is 12". The bowl itself is 14" wide. As you can see, the shower wall extends very close to the toilet. We will make that wall a bit narrower but it's still going to be tight. So:
1. Are there elongated bowls that are narrower that 14"?
2. Would you recommend on-piece or two-piece toilet? Our budget is relatively low so our goal is to have something practical and durable not fancy. However, paying extra for a toilet that will be more convenient to use, clean and repair is an option.
3. Any other things to consider when picking a piece for the tight space?

Thanks,

IZ

Code says the minimum width space for a toilet is 30"
Actually 15" to the side (each side) from the centerline of the flange...
