So, my house has both hardwood and carpeted floors. Having a puppy and hardwood floors is great. She makes a mess, we clean it up and easily wash the floor. Having carpet, not so much. I do plan to steam clean the carpets. How often should they be done due to the puppy accidents? Once she stops having accidents, or at least they get to far and few between, how often then?

The enzyme based dog urine cleaners are great.
They clean all the way down to the pad, when used quickly and properly.
Then steam cleaning afterward, with liquid extraction, gets out all the smell.
Or even just wetting with clear water and vacuum with a shop vac.
There is also a special machine for pet accidents, which is like a mini rug cleaner wet vac.
The smell of old pee will attract your puppy to piss in those same areas if you don’t keep them really clean.

I used an enzyme-based cleaner (named "Natures" or something like that) to clean the occasional pee-puddles my Boston Terrier occasionally left in the wall-to-carpet. Worked like a charm! Just followed the directions. Completely satisfied!
