Hello again,

I am going to install a flat corner into my shower for shampoo and what not. However, my plan was the following.

Nails into grout right below the corner tile for support while construction adhesive is drying.

Apply adhesive.

Duct tape to hold corner level while being supported on nails.

Let set up.

Remove duct tape.

Caulk and remove nails.

The nails have me concerned. Should there be any problem with this?

I have drilled into tile. And installed anchors and screws, but never into grout...

Any thoughts??

I just did a ceramic shelf. taped a 4x4 in the corner to set it on. Covered the surface with silicone and stuck it to the wall and taped it in place and left it for 24 hours. I should have added a wedge to pull out to free the 4x4, that was a bit of a fight. The next day I caulked around the edges and it has held good for ten years.

Forget the nails, use polyseamseal instead of silicon, which works best 20' deep in a landfill, unopened, prop it up and tape it to the wall.
