Hi. My garage has an unfinished wall where the insulation is deteriorating. It's an older house with some type of foil insulation nailed to the studs.
What type of insulation should I replace it with and how should I proceed?
Thanks.

If you use faced fiberglass insulation or foam board you will need to cover it with wood or drywall to meet firecode.
The process is pretty much straight forward. tear out the old and install the new.

Drywall is best because it is made of plaster and plaster is full of water (although you cannot see or feel it) drywall will provide a 30 minute fire proof wall, giving you time to put the fire out. A wise move is to double the amount to gain an hour.
