Hello all! My name is Peggy. We live in West Texas. We have four great kids, 2 that are married, 2 still at home, and just received an awesome gift last week, our first grandchild!

We have an older home, built in 1948, with 1850 sq ft. We have been slowly trying to remodel it, but unfortunately, neither of us are very talented when it comes to things like this!! lol But hopefully, with a LOT of patience, we will eventually get it done.

The project that we feel we need to tackle before we start tearing out the sheetrock and flooring is to level the house. It is on a pier and beam frame, so hopefully won't be an job that absolutely has to have professionals in to do it. But, like I said, we've never done any of this, so any suggestions on how to go about the job would be GREATLY appreciated. Most of the house is one level, but there is a room built over the carport (which has a concrete floor), and that room is continued over the kitchen.

    Welcome Peggy:
We are happy to have you and we are here to help in any way we can.
As far as leveling the house; you will need 3 or 4 8ton jacks, some 4 X 6s, some hardwood wedges and a long level. Don't put any part of your body under the part being lifted; sometimes it can come down unexpectedly.
