hi all,im planning to enclose a carport attached to my home to create an extra room and wanted to know how i would seal the exterior timber wall joists as they will be attached to the concrete slab, from drafts and moisture
before i clad them?thanks all.

get green treated lumber and then use liquid nails or some other construction adhesive to put on the bottom side of the lumber before nailing it down.

Welcome Deano:
I agree with HondaDrv, glue the plate down then use silicone caulk on both inside and outside of it, insulate between the studs with fiberglass and add styrofoam to the outside. Make sure the dirt around the room slopes away from the room and use gutters with extended drains.
