Modify Attic Truss for Attic Ladder and storage

Bridging between joists is required in anything longer than 7 ft or 2 for anything more than 14 ft long. As you will have trusses in the way for that I would just use
14 1/2" blocks between them and blocking the end like you suggested is fine.
