I have 1/2 inch plywood underpayment finished with 3/4 inch hardwood flooring in our existing home.
We are adding an addition to our existing home. We are having carpet installed in one room of the new addition and laminate flooring in the other room of the addition. Should I be expecting the contractor to figure the new addition floor meeting flooring in the existing portion or will it be more like 3/4 inch below existing height?

If you play with the thickness of the floor the walls will not be the same hight as the rest of the house, play with secondary plywood to make sub floor the right hight after the house is built.

The floors should be level between the new and old additions.
