Hi there. I stumbled upon this site looking for info about asbestos. I live in a house built in 1890, and last updated circa 1953. Ugh. Great bones, but needs a whole lot of work. It will take years, as we have small kids and I stay at home with them, so money is tight. But I have lots of ideas, and it will all happen in time. My dad knew his way around most anything, but I lost him almost 5 years ago, so I am definitely in need of some good solid advice. Looking forward to it!

Welcome and sorry to hear about your father.
Check your other post regarding the asbestos concerns you have.
We look forward to your questions and helping you when possible.
If you have plans for the home, I would definitely want to know what I was dealing with and you should contact someone to have the home tested.
I believe the state will send someone out for free.
Don't get taken like that Detroit city resident did. He was charged $200 for lessons and materials for lead paint abatement. The city provides this service free of charge.
