Old tub spout will not come off!

I am trying to remove my old bathtub spout--which should just screw off counterclockwise--but it won't budge, even when I used a screwdriver, as in the photo. My guess is that the threads have rusted, but I don't know how I can get any lubricant to the pipe threads where the rust would be. Can anyone suggest what to do? Thanks!

Feel along the bottom of the spout. If the faucet is a MIX-IT, the spout will be held in place via a set screw.

PS, That screw Snoonyb mentioned may be metric, it will be an allan head set screw.
