Looking into a on-demand water heater. The big tankless is on the other side of the house from the kitchen. It takes a very long time for hot water to get the the kitchen faucet and dishwasher. An on-demand would solve the problem ... but ... they do have problems. Some (BOSCH) need servicing every 6 months to examine the anode because they die very fast. Failure to do the check-up voids the "6 year warranty." Plus their customer service tends to be rude.

Other brands don't have that problem but annual maintenance disassembly is required.

What is your experience with these appliances?

I have no experience with these products, except in a lav.

Instead I recommend a recirculating system with a timer.
