Hello all,

I recently had my garage wall lifted and now have a 5 to 6" gap between the garage floor and the bottom of the garage wall footer. Someone told me to fill this gap with gravel as much as possible and then smooth over with concrete to seal up the gap. I'm not currently going to redo the garage slab, but I need to fill in this gap to keep out critters and such. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

So I spoke with my foundation guy and he clarified and said to get more soil, water it in and tamp down as much as possible, then get decomposed granite and fill in on top. No need to fill in the gap underneath the house, the piers were designed to hold everything up.

the problem started with the builder not compacting the garage , I would pour a another level of concrete on top.

yes you have to break up and remove the old floor first
