I am painting a wooden chair for our nursery. I have already sanded the previously glossy finish. 2 questions:

1. Is there a child safe or certain type of paint I should use since this will be in a nursery, or is using normal latex paint okay? The paint will have plenty of time to dry before the chair will be placed in the nursery, so there is no concern with fumes.

2. Would it be better to spray the paint or brush it on?

Hey Cibulla:
If you use latex enamel on the chair it will chip off badly. I recommend an oil based enamel or even laquer from spray cans for a more durable and smoother finish. If you have some experience at spraying you should be able to get a good 2-coat job with 3 spray cans. Like you said, let it cure for at least 7 days before using.

Any recommended type of spray paint? The chair will be white.
