Please advise! I am considering purchasing a beautiful hill country cabin here in Texas. Much to my dismay between the huge wood beams, pressed board has been used as the ceiling. Needless to say it's not an attractive look. It almost appears as if the home owner ran out of money. However, I am assured and by evidence of all the other high end details this was not the case rather the trend in the 70's. What is the fix??? I know I could have sheet rock placed over the pressed board but are there any paint solutions that would get rid of the pressed wood look leaving a smooth surface. I am on a budget.
