I'm replacing the roofing (including sheathing) over my front porch. Also am reconfiguring slightly to remove old, faulty box gutters. How much overhang should I allow on the sheathing at the edges? Also, for new fascia boards, what's the lumber-of-choice (not counting treated)? I want clean, straight wood and I'll prime it all before Iinstall. Thanks for any help!

Up here the yards supply combed lumber to look like its rough cut and it comes pre-primed. On the sides the facia hides the edge of the sheathing

The sheathing should come to the edge of the sub facia (2x) and then the facia should come to the top of the sheathing and that all gets covered by the dripedge the the roofing underlayment then the roofing material.

I prefer to use a product call Azak for my facias, its pure vinyl and will never rot.
