Problem basement floor - suggestions welcome

Removing the stuff is just not going to happen. I am not going to do that much work in a house that is probably going to be torn down in a few years anyway.

I've had another week to think about it and had a chance to look at flooring &c at a Rona and talk to my neighbour about his basement floor...

How about this stuff under 8 or 10mm laminated flooring?
