I have two separate outdoor floodlight fixtures that are operated on the same switch. In the last couple of weeks, the bulbs in both fixtures have burned out simultaneously, twice. What could be causing this? Other lights on the circuit don't seem to have any problems.

First , if incandescent lamps , buy 130 VAC rated lamps .

I suggest you replace them with LED lamps .

Now , you may have a loose neutral , some where .

Thank you WyrTwister, the problem is only in the two lights that are operated by one switch. The rest of the circuit seems fine. Should I check for the loose neutral in the switch and beyond?

May or may not be a neutral at the switch .

I would check for a bad connection at the fixtures and work back the othet way .

Stick 2 LED lamps in & see if they work OK .

Thank you, the fixtures are old and next to a door which might cause vibration, so I bet that will fix it.

I've replaced all my exterior bulbs with LEDs, no more burnouts.

My floods mounted right next to my door always went out. The ones mounted far away never have issues. It's probably vibration issues. Try LEDs
