I'm planning on removing my old tub and coming back with a tiled in stand up shower. Through the pipe inspection cut out behind the shower piping I can see a hole in the slab where the tub drain is plumbed up. How do I fill this hole in with a drain that can support a person showering? I know and plan on tearing out all the current tile and replacing valves and associated piping while doing this up grade. I'm just curious how about filling in the busted up slab where the tub drain is so I can tile in the floor for the shower.

Thanks for any help given.....

I'm thinking you want to put the new shower where the old tub is now, so you still can use the existing drain. Are you saying that the concrete around the drain is busted up?
If it's just a matter of repairing the concrete, it should be pretty simple. But this would be a good time to check the drain pipe in case it needs repair or replacement.
