We just moved into a new house with a screen porch. The screen is damaged in many places. It is not clear to me how the screen was initially installed, as the screen is stapled in between several different types of boards.
One person I talked to recommended just tearing out the old screen and then adding new thin pieces of wood to attach the new screen so that I don't have to go to the effort/expense of totally dismantling the boards that currently hold the screen in place.
Attached is a photo of one corner of this porch.
Note: I would rate my level of experience with home improvement/repair as: "Novice." But the last person I asked about doing this job said they would charge 800$, so I'd really like to try to figure this out on my own.
Let me know if more photos would help in analyzing this, this is just one corner. There are some boards outside which appear to help fasten the screen as well, but they are large boards and I'm not sure if I should try prying them up or what etc.
Thanks!
