Greetings

I’m doing some trim and paint work on the south side of our house following a bathroom remodel. I have found some rot in the upper section of our siding.

I assume I need to replace the board. I also assume i need to start on one end of the wall and work my way to the problem area, replace, then reinstall so pieces overlap (?).

Here is the existing z-bar

Sound right? Anything else to consider? Just grab the cats paw and go?

Thanks.

as I think about things...might be answering my own questions..

Just take nails out of the offending piece, then the nails on the edge of the adjoining pieces, then slide the new sheet in?

Sounds better than taking everything out from the edge....

All I see is somewhat old T1-11 that needs scraping and a couple of coats of paint. Unless there is actual soft rotting wood that can't be easily seen in the pictures. Those few cracks don't look too bad.

the lower 4" in the center was pretty jacked. I was able to get it out and the new piece in pretty easily. Tore some old tar paper in the process and put a new piece up behind the old.
