So i just bought this single family ranch style home a few months ago AND THE SKY IS FALLING. JK... But really the roof is seemingly coming through the ceiling.. pictured are screws popping through drywall ceiling.

The place is new, built in 2012, track home. Western 1 coat siding on top of EPS board fastened streight to the 2x4 wood frame. No sheithing/substrate.

What could be causing this. Both Screws like the ones pictured are oriented towards the very middle of the home.

Welcome.

This usually happens when the installer misses the framing member, but thinks that the screw has enough of a bite to hold, so doesn't remove it, or is just lazy.

Anything you do, either in removing it or loosening slightly and putting some painters caulk between the head and the drywall and the reinserting the screw using the painters caulk as the patch material, will require a little paint touch up.
