Septic tank repair

I have a 9’ x 3’ x 5’ deep, (1000 gals), concrete septic tank with a leaking joint halfway up the depth. I’d like to go in after having it pumped out, wire brush and hose off the gunk in the joint and reseal it with hydraulic cement. I’m wondering if it would help to cut a negative slot with a grinder to help the bond. I intend to use a forced air system and hoist and harness for safety. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Here is a video on fixing a crack from outside. I have zero experience with septic tanks. My real estate agent wife has a good septic tank guy they use for all their inspections on septic systems. Most homes in our area are on city water and sewer, but you get out into the unincorporated sections of the counties in the area and you do have septic tanks. If the crack isn't that far down, you might want to dig down to it and do the repair from the outside of the tank. Forcing air and venting the thing out is a definite must. It could kill you.
