Replaced the valve cartridge 6 or so months ago. Heard a few drops of water hit the shower floor last night. Could the cartridge be bad already?m

Several things, hard water, sediment, did you use any PASCO, or other brand of faucet lube in reassembly?

Did it continue to drip or after shutting off you had a few drips and then nothing?

If it just dripped after it had stopped and then no more I wouldn’t get too worried about it.

You can test it by setting a bucket or something under it over night after the couple drips happen.

Mine does this too and I never have figured out why.

It’s random a few drops here and there but for the longest time nothing after the cartridge replacement.

Sometimes the problem is minerals built up in the shower head, which can hold some water, which can leak out hours after a shower.

Very high house water pressure can also make a shower valve drip, even when off.
