Hello,

Have a gap between my foundation wall and the concrete walk way beside my house. What would be best to fix this? It seems to be pretty deep.

Thanks.

I took a close look at it today and it seems to go pretty deep on the one side. Still use caulking?

You can buy a foam rod in an assortment of sizes, you push that in and leave 1/4" for caulk. It's called cord, hence [cord and caulk]. The caulk that I have used stays flexable and is paintable.

Plan on repeating the process in a year or two if just using "caulk." Far better to use either a 2-component rapid-cure silicone (NOT silicone caulk), or even a quality polyurethane. All with proper surface preparation, of course, and go with a minimum thickness of at least 3/8" above the foam backer rod, slightly recessed so not to get torn by snow shovels, etc.
