When I put in our new tub and 5 piece surround (both plastic/fiberglass), I used silicone bath/tub/tile caulk around the joint. Apparently, 1 area didn't seal well because when we take a shower, we have water running out the end of the tub/surround juncture and down the side of the tub on the faucet end. So, I'm going to have to pull out the old caulk and re-caulk it. I know that fresh silicone will not stick to old silicone and have heard that there is a cleaner you are supposed to use on the tub and surround after removing the old caulk, to remove the silicone residue. However, I wasn't told the name or type of cleaner to use; these days many (most?) of the home improvement store employees are clueless and have no idea what to recommend. Can one of you please tell me what cleaner (a couple of brand names would be helpful) to use to remove the silicone residue? Thanks!
