We have some serious water spring issues at our property. Again another spring at back of yard sprung and this time we installed a curtain drain to capture the amount of water. Hopefully this drains our damp crawlspace. My question is due to all the water and backhoe action the ground by the drain system is pretty much like soup/quicksand. The guy who had done all our drainage concerns over the years says it will firm up after the water drains out. Does anyone have any idea how long this action takes? He said probably will be around a week. Of course we have more rain on the forecast and after breaking almost every rainfall record in this area in January I assume might take longer?

Thank you for any information

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you took the right steps. Your question is pretty much imposable to answer. If you have water coming out of the ground it could take a long time before it stops running then add in a rainy winter etc.

The surface will eventually dry up and get firm just give it some time.
