ok - I heard that if you paint your eaves and under your porches on your house blue (baby blue was used specifically - but I'm not sure it matters) that spiders and wasps won't gather there. I started to file this in the wives tale category, until I realized that my sister never has these pests accumulating on her house - and guess what color her house is? blue! I was talking to another friend about this - and she said her brother lives on the water and he painted his dock shed blue - and it works.
