Off of my back porch, built steps down to the yard using stone blocks with mortar. I capped each step with sandstone. I have uneven and rough end edges now. I want to even them. Would stucco work which might be as thick as 1-1 1/2 inches thick in a spot or two? Is there a better method?

Blow it apart and turn your steps around and over; remortar.
Now you should be looking at a factory edge for the next few years.

You can put a diamond blade on your circular saw and cut the edges smooth. Or if you have an angle grinder, you can try to take off any rough spots.

I will get blade and give it a try. It seems most logical approach suggested so far. Thanks.
