I am buying a new dock. The problem is that I don't have any room in the yard for it this winter, unless I store it on my field bed. Next winter, It would be stored where the existing dock is stored. Is that going to cause any damage to the field bed? I was planning on stacking them, otherwise the dock sections are enough to cover my field bed completely.

Since there are two functions involved, percolation and evaporation, stacking or better yet bridging, then stacking, will minimize any loss of function.

The dock has legs. Are you suggesting we leave it up on the legs?

I don't think it will be a problem. The dock will not compact the soil or crush the drain lines. It might kill the grass if left there too long.

Just curious. Why do you take your dock up for winter?
