Tips for converting brush to lawn

so far i've:

weed-whacked the offending brush
raked the majority into the compost heap
mowed the brush stubs quite low (using the "mulch" feature)
"roughed up" the soil, and planted seed
watered the seed


seeing as there's a decent amount of humus and then deteriorated leaves and such, what do i do for fertilization?

any other tricks?

Wait until fall. Keep mowing but leave the clippings...don't bag 'em.
