Is there such an outlet that one outlet is constant on and one is switch controlled. Dont want to have to rewire looking for something i can just purchase.

There is a little metal tab on the side of each outlet (brass side i think) that connects the two receptacles. If that tab is removed, the the outlets are independent. Connect one to the switch and the other to constant power. This can be done with any common outlet. If you need details on how to do it, just ask.

What you are looking for is not available "off the shelf", and as SNS described, it can be created from standard, available, "off the shelf" products.

However it is not as simple as just changing one recepticle for another. It requires some rewiring.

How were you expecting to switch it if the you don't rewire?

There was a wireless switch for an outlet but the one I am thinking of was recalled for defects.

If you don't have the wiring in place you could do the wiring, but technology has provided a way of doing it without rewiring.

Just do a Google search on wireless remote control outlets US and you'll find a lot of choices. I can't speak to the quality and durability of any of these, but I'm sure you can find online reviews once you zero on a couple of choices.
