When water only comes from the side sprayer and not the main spout, it's usually due to a clog. First, try unscrewing and cleaning the small screen (aerator) at the main spout's tip with some vinegar. If that doesn't work, the problem might be a stuck switcher (diverter) inside the faucet. Try pressing the side sprayer button several times to unstick it. If these quick fixes don't help, you'll probably need a plumber to check it out.My water faucet in the kitchen has two outlets - the center fixed one and the flexible side one (see photo).
Water do not come out of the center fixed outlet.
Water come out of the flexible side outlet only.
How to fix it?

Hello, I’m looking to buy new kitchen taps, preferably the high-arch pull-down type. There are so many brands available now, and I'm curious if there are any that you would recommend avoiding. What are some of the best quality brands when it comes to kitchen faucets? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Hi Albertkao9,
On our two handle faucet, the diverter gets limed up enough to stick about every 6 or so months. When that happens, water only comes out of the side sprayer. (And shoots me in the shirt every time!)
Check with the manufacturer's web site or technical support call in line to find out how to access the diverter. (Like Snoonyb mentioned, the name is lasered on the faucet somewhere. Often it is on the base plate.)
Remove it and soak it in white vinegar for a few hours, rinse & re-assemble.
For our two-handle, I take the spout off & lift the diverter out. When we had a single lever like yours, I can't remember for certain how it was accessed, but I did contact ANZZI customer service once for help with a similar issue, and they provided excellent guidance. It might be worth reaching out to them if you’re still unsure about the process. (I think I took off the plate under the control ball, but might be wrong.)
Also, on line are probably a bunch of videos of how to replace the diverter.
Diverters are really cheap- like under $5.00. If you have American Standard or Glacier Bay they will send you one free, as will Grohe.
Good Luck! You'll get it solved!
Paul
PS: the photos below are samples. Each brand might have more than one style.
I'm a fan of Grohe and Hans Grohe products. (Different companies.) At home, we have some Grohe. They have been trouble free. Grohe makes a few nice pull-down & touch free pull-down kitchen faucets. I don't know how many Hans Grohe offers.Hello, I’m looking to buy new kitchen taps, preferably the high-arch pull-down type.
