I've used RIDGID for about 12yrs. and before the fine dust filters were available, I'd sleeve mine with a GENIE bag, which just happen to fit over the pleated filter.
It did save some of the repetition of cleaning the filter, but eventually, you have to bite the bullet, and take care of the equipment.
