Shan, I wasn't too surprised they wanted me to come in. In this area they aren't too careful about Covid. Was told to quarantine and see how things go. The Paxlovid seems to have stopped the nasal drip. Not coughing quite as much. Still have to sleep sitting up, but that's ok. I found the right pillow for it and am sleeping comfortably. Sorry you're having anxiety over caregiving activities. I can understand how it wears you down.

My sister over in New Mexico just tested positive for Covid. So, pretty much the whole family has it now. I joked with her that she didn't have to go get Covid for solidarity.

What did I do today? I slept. I got in some good napping and then I got in more napping. Got up to go to the bathroom, fed the kitties, and back to napping. Woke up sweating a few times but then went back to sleep. Apparently fatigue is one of the side effects but I already had fatigue before. This is just helping me sleep more comfortably. There is a weird aftertaste to the Paxlovid but its not terrible. Thus far no other side effects that I wasn't already having as symptoms. I'm going to roll with it and sleep as long as my body will let me sleep.

I set up a curbside pickup order so I won't have to go into the store. Need to do one for Samsclub tomorrow to get more water. Will have them put the cases in the truck bed I think.

Not feeling too bad. Still tired but I know my body is fighting off the virus so that is to be expected.

@zannej I am so glad that it's helping you feel better. I hope you rest up well and are back to your normal self in no time.

The electrician was here for a few hours yesterday, he put the ventilation fan in the bathroom. I love it. The bathroom is now lit up like Friday night lights lol......
The downfall to that? My bathtub is completely disgusting. I can't do anything about it currently because my back is killing me... so I will just have to live with it for a little bit.

Gotta go pick up a Walmart order myself in a bit and then when I get back home. I'll need to go back through my list and make sure I have everything I need. I am going to cook Thanksgiving dinner at my son's house this year, since my kitchen is in disarray.

I found this at Sam's Club today. Not something I would typically read, but I felt like it may be worth the read.

I thought I'd share in case anyone had a membership and would be interested. It was $17+tax20231118_160145.jpg

Keep it, Shan... The Dems and some Republicants want to get rid of it forever.

I watched a thorough beatdown today as my Montana Grizzlies destroyed their opponent, the other "team" in the State. I call them the Northern Wyoming Knittens McCrabscratchy Fleabag Shorthairs, but they are "officially" called the Montana State Bobcats...

Ever see a Bobcat take on a Grizzly? I'll give you a hint... No... They run like the wind... Little itsy bitsy widdle kiddie cat... I thought I taw a fleabag... I did, I did taw a fleabag, and it was UGLY...

That's exactly why I bought it. I don't get super involved in politics, history and such. It never made a lot of sense to me..... but even I can see the writing on the wall...... or the eraser being used

Yeah, and it's not even the eraser being used, it's who is using it... The morons that weren't even alive on 9/11 want every statue removed, regardless of our history. The same morons will be "taking care" of us in your job and they can't even figure out what sex they are.

That's why I constantly preach about people learning to take care of themselves, because we are doomed if we don't.

That looks like an awesome good book!

I wonder what the “Rules and Regulations of the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club (1845)” (page 178) has to do with it? I guess I have to read it to find out.

Speaking of Bobcats, I saw one run across the road when I was heading home today.

Thanks, Shan. I'm feeling better. Still got some stuffy nose and mucus going on, but not feeling as foggy & exhausted.

Woke up with 10 cats in my room. Most of them were sleeping or grooming but Itsy was wanting attention. She said it was canned-food-o'clock.

Went for curbside pickup order at Samsclub & had the guy load stuff into the pickup bed. Discovered my favorite restaurant does curbside so I ordered a family size chicken sticks, entree of long green beans, fried rice, and a big container of egg drop soup. I was looking forward to it the whole drive home.

Polished off the soup first then ate some of the beans and 3 chicken strips. My cat, Boo, was watching me eat and liked the smell of the chicken. He's usually a delicate eater. Likes stuff in small pieces and nibbles. I gave him some small pieces and he ate them. Then he leaned over to sniff my plate and went whole hog- taking a large chomp out of one of the chicken sticks. I laughed and let him have it. He didn't try to take more though. Dog got jealous so I gave her some of the pieces that were harder for me to chew.

We're under tornado watch right now and I'm ready for a nap. Always tired after eating.

I did get Mom to eat some of the green beans so her appetite is doing better.

10 is nothing..... my mom had 40 at the height of the madness around here.

It is sooo important to spay and neuter your pets! And if you can, get with a rescue that does trap and release where they pick up strays, fix them, and then release them. They either clip ther cats ear or put a small tattoo on them so they know they have been fixed.

My DIL adopted twin brothers, who both have 5 toes on their front paws, which, in my opinion, should have been allowed to be passed on, to succeeding generations.

I'm down to 12 cats now. Back in the 80s we had 63 before we lost count. All of our females are spayed but my brother's male cats are not neutered. Hence the spraying war they've been having all over the house.

Been sick and trying to rest the last few days. Tested negative for Covid on home test this time around but still feeling cruddy. I think the colder weather isn't helping with that.

Really wanted curbside takeout from my favorite restaurant today but Mom wanted me to cook instead. So we had my version of shepherd's pie.

Had to repair a LED sconce light today. We have two sconce lights on the fireplace mantle in the dining area and another two sconce lights on the fireplace in the TV room. I had two lights go bad within a week of each other. It just happens to be the right light on each set. One of them flashes when it is first turned on and then after a few minutes it will operate normally. The other one won’t come on until I turn the switch on and off a few times.

The LED’s need a driver to rectify the voltage from A/C to D/C and convert it from 120v to 25-37vdc. Both light sets operate on a constant current. I had previously repaired one of the lights in the dining area and so I had a spare driver on hand.

The new driver is smaller than the old one but a little longer.

IMG_6411.jpeg

I had to modify the plastic box a little to get the new driver in there.

Solder and heat shrink

There they are back in action.

IMG_6424.jpeg

I had to order a driver for the other set. The lights look similar but they are a different brand and operate on a constant current of 520 mA rather than 320mA like the other ones. It’s working right now but like I said, it takes several tries to get the right side to light up.
