Went to post office this morning and took bro to doctor for a followup. He's down to 248lbs-- considering he used to be over 400lbs that's a good thing. There were some things he forgot to mention to the doctor but I remembered and brought them up.

Mom has an appointment soon so she needs to go get bloodwork. Might as well take her to drop off her mail-in ballot (don't trust the mail here) and we can bring along paperwork so she can talk to the assessor's office people about the property.

Took Rupert for a walk. He did well except for when he fixated on Aminatu and charged at her. Cow came over to see us so I picked him up and carried him. Didn't want her to accidentally step on him. Set him down when it was safe and got him to follow me back inside and then gave him some bisque. He's on my lap grooming himself now.

I started taking off wood paneling in one part of the house that doesn’t have Sheetrock and installing new Sheetrock.

15 pieces Of Sheetrock will get rid of most of the paneling.

We are going to Key Largo Friday morning, so I won’t be doing much rocking the sheets for a while.

We’re going to rent this house right on the water.

Does the rental include rods and rod racks?
I don’t think it does but it doesn’t matter because Ruby has already filled our days with activities. It’s her birthday trip, so I'm going to go with her wishes. I did get one thing though…I’ve always wanted to visit the Coral Castle

See it here

The Coral Castle of Homestead, a man's hand-built shrine, is one of South Florida's great head-scratching mysteries and attractions.

Sitting behind an old, neon-lined road south of Miami is America's most poignant monument to unrequited love, the Coral Castle of Florida.

The story of the Coral Castle, though, starts in the early 1900s in the Eastern European country of Latvia, where 26-year-old Edward Leedskalnin fell in love with 16-year-old Agnes Scuffs. They courted and eventually set a wedding date, but Agnes got cold feet the day before and called it off.

Heartbroken, Leedskalnin immigrated to America, settling in Florida City, a small, isolated town at the southern tip of Florida. He then spent the rest of his life creating a monument to the woman he loved.

He never really had a profession. But he did have an obsession.

In 1923, Leedskalnin began carving from the coral found under the soil of his property. During the next 28 years, he diligently and secretly sculpted 1,100 tons of coral into an open-air “castle,” a structure that became a shrine to Agnes. To ensure total privacy, he worked only at night, and filled in the cracks between the stones in the wall – the largest stone weighed 29 tons – with smaller stones so no one could see in during the day.

In 1936, Leedskalnin, concerned about the growth of Florida City, decided to move the castle 10 miles north to Homestead. It took Leedskalnin – who was only about 5 feet tall and 100 pounds – three years to move the castle piece by piece.

But how did a man of his stature transport tons of coral? Leedskalnin is said to have been a self-taught student of physics and was fascinated by ancient structures such as the pyramids, whose pieces were transported and constructed without modern methods.

As one story goes, Leedskalnin pulled into a local quarry one night to buy several tons of coral. When the foreman asked how he planned to load the coral into his old truck, Leedskalnin asked the man to turn his back. A few minutes later, the foreman turned around and was astonished to see Leedskalnin sitting in the truck with the coral fully loaded.

The sculptures Leedskalin crafted are no less impressive than the stories behind them. At the entrance to the Coral Castle of Florida, an inscription greets visitors: “You will be seeing unusual accomplishment.” And as promised, the site is full of magnificent sculptures, including a 9-ton gate that once moved with just the touch of a finger and rocking chairs made entirely of stone.

The castle sits on three acres, and the structure itself, consisting of walls 8 feet tall, takes up just less an acre. It is divided into several sections, including a two-story stone tower where Leedskalnin lived (without running water or electricity). The cramped top floor was his living quarters. The bottom floor was a storage area for his cutting and shaping tools (blocks, tackles, crude winches and wedges – most of which he made himself), along with equipment for radiowave, physics and astronomy experiments.

On the grounds, you'll see a 13-ton, 20-foot-long table, surrounded by 10 chairs, that Leedskalnin carved into the shape of Florida. You'll see the stone sundial he used to tell time. You'll see his moon fountain and sun couch. You'll see the Grotto of Three Bears, a children's play area. You'll see the stone well from which Leedskalnin drew his water, including the steps he used to check his water supply.

In a throne room sits his 5-ton rocking chair. And next to it are smaller thrones for Agnes, a child and a mother-in-law. Fascinated by astronomy and engrossed by the celestial, Leedskalnin also built a 30-ton telescope, which stands 25 feet tall, and focused it on the North Star.

Leedskalnin never gave up hope that he and Agnes would reunite, so he carved a 2.5-ton heart-shaped table for them to sit at. He invited her several times to see the castle, but she never came.

In 1951, a month or two after he finished the castle, he woke up one morning feeling ill. Leedskalnin, who rarely visited the doctor, put a sign on his door that said he was going to the hospital. He took a bus up U.S. 1 to Jackson Memorial Hospital in downtown Miami.

Three days later, he died of kidney failure and stomach cancer.

The castle he created, however, lives on as America's greatest monument to lost love.

Interestingly, I'd read about him several decades ago, and the engineering he used was reminisant of that we had employed, as farmers in the 40's & 50's, in the Dakotas.

I saw a slice documentary about the Stone Castle builder... It was an hour or so of people that built stuff, or stuff that's weird or whatever... They didn't mention he was in love with a 16 year old though.

The kitten over at my friend's house that the neighbor kid stole ended up dying. Not sure if it was bc of something the brat did to her or what. Poor little thing.

Friend is keeping an eye on the other kittens to make sure they don't go downhill too. Of all the litters the mother cat has had, these ones have survived the longest. She's never had any survive to adulthood. Hoping these ones will fare better.

Friend's ex called me yesterday trying to hit me up for $ to bail her out. Nope. Not happening. Best thing for her kid is to not have to be around her abuse. I don't know if she broke the baby's bones, but she stunted that kid's emotional/mental growth severely with how she treated him. I know my friend doesn't want her to be guilty, and she may be able to convince a judge or jury that she's an innocent victim & her boyfriend is the terrible one. I was saying to Spicoli that I'd feel sorry for her boyfriend if he hadn't put himself in this situation knowing what a liar she is. He fell for her crap at first and fought hard to get her to leave my friend for him but at some point he realized she was lying to him and manipulating both him and my friend and pitting them against one another. He realized that she was lying to him about my friend and vice versa. Yet he still chose to stay with her and have 2 more kids with her. That's assuming the 3rd one is even his.

I need to go to samsclub today but my stomach is not cooperating with me. On the upside, I found a jacket and matching pants that Mom loves. She particularly loves the jacket because it matches some of her other pants that she already had. It's got a hood, pockets, thumbhole cuffs, and a zipper so it can close up in the front. It's a very soft material so she likes how it feels.

Meanwhile, Rupert decided to be a derp and climb under some furniture and then around some furniture in the living room that is full of boxes and junk. He then managed to get himself stuck and started hollering for help. I started cleaning up trash and moving boxes and furniture to try to get to him. Asked my brother for help and he stood there watching me and then went to go play video games. I came and asked him again for help and he said he was "busy". Jerk.

Anyway, I managed to get to Rupert. I was really worried because he stopped meowing. Turns out he pissed on himself and fell asleep. When I was moving some boxes out of the room to make space, Lady Sylvanas slipped in to explore and refused to leave when I was taking Rupert out to clean him up. I cleaned him up and was holding him when Mom came out to go to the living room. I set Rupert down and went to move stuff out of her way (I'd just tossed a bunch of boxes out of the path I needed to go through to get to him. Went to open the living room door and it was stuck. Sylvanas was right there meowing and I couldn't figure out what was stopping the door at the bottom. thought something fell. So my fat a$$ had to go outside, prop the front window open (it won't stay open on its own), grab my left foot with both hands to lift it high enough to get through the window, and then climbed inside. Then I had to squeeze behind a recliner and make my way back over to the door. I was stuck for a few seconds before I finally made it and found that Sylvanas had pulled the carpet up trying to get out and it was blocking the door. I stomped it down, opened the door, she went out, and I moved stuff out of Mom's way.

I told my friend and he joked with me that if I hadn't gotten unstuck he would have gotten a call from my Mom asking him to come help me get unstuck. LOL. He also reported that his wife is falling in love with my little fluffy orange Kelebrimbor.

Anyway, my head is throbbing from my blood pressure going up squeezing through stuff so I'm taking a little break.

Stomach hates me today but Pepto is helping. Cooked for Mom and fed kitties. Cleaned Mewlatto's ears. He was happy when I cleaned one of them but the other one must be hurting because he started growling and hissing.
Bro is trying to get Lady Sylvanas to enjoy being held like a baby and getting belly rubs. I went over and petted her face while he rubbed her belly and she was happy.

Looked at the zoom planet thingy that shows the wind/weather patterns and there are currently 3 hurricanes in the Atlantic. One of them looks like it might be heading toward Florida.

If I ever got a VR headset I'd want to do virtual tours of places so I wouldn't have to be around people.

Stomach still feels ick today. Mom turned into a Gremlin at midnight and started yelling at me because I couldn't read her mind and figure out what she wanted to eat.

Been keeping an eye on the zoom earth thing and it looks like that hurricane has turned to cat5 and is predicted to slam Florida.

Keep a couple empty bottles of Gatorade by the bed and empty them every morning.
Except that when I spit, It's the durability of the curiosity, to sniff, which is a health indicator, in uphill societies, I've heard.

FEMA has zero money since they gave it all to Illegals, but that $750 they promised to Hurricane victims if they ever get it can't buy anything since the stores are bare... Not to worry though, if you are the Government of Lebanon, you're getting $157 Million from our "Government"...
