There's a mental aspect in it. People that have a few tats aren't in my classification as mental, but people that have their entire face covered and have hooks and rings and stuff are mental in that they are missing a component that normally occurs early in life called attention. They weren't given any. It's either that or they were never disciplined.

I place them in the same mental classification as the "transgender" movement, being that "transgender" is physically impossible, although very mentally possible.

You don't have to be a shrink to see that the common denominator in both groups is a massive lack of attention. What happens when anybody in either group goes in public? Instant attention from literally everyone. People might not stare, but it's impossible not to look.
I have another perspective of transgender, and that, in some cases, may be entrepreneurial, IE, a 7th grade boy resides he wants to access the girls locker room, and elects to declare himself of a female mindset, transitioning and availing himself of those discoveries, but then, that same boy discovers that the females he was so interested in discovering, where actually more interested in the boys football team members, so as a 10th grader, decides too transition back to a male, too join the football team.

However, as a disclaimer, 1 of my past relationships was involved, for 4yrs, coaching HS girl cheerleaders.

Curiosity, swings both ways.

Food supply 100%... If there were no such thing as fast food or processed boxed food and there were no pesticides, take the same lazy people eating nothing but Organic meats and vegetables and they wouldn't get fat. They would sit around and might have health problems because of that, but they wouldn't be fat.
In the 1970s and 1980s they encouraged everyone to go "low fat" and we successfully lowered our percentage of calories from fat from 40% to 30%. But the fat was replaced largely by HFCS. Skim milk and low fat cheeses replaced whole milk and full fat cheeses. Fat is better at satisfying hunger than sugar and HFCS that drives insulin spikes as the sugars rush into your blood stream.

Look at most packaged food and it contains HFCS in the USA, not sure about Canada. All the processed carbs and sugars people are eating is driving obesity and T2 diabetes.

Look at the work of the following doctors: Dr. David Ludwig (Always Hungry?) Dr. Robert Lustig (Metabolical, Fat Chance) Dr. Mark Hyman (Forever Young and others), Dr. Peter Attia ( Outlive) Hyman does a podcast called the Doctors Farmacy, and Attia does one called The Drive. Check them out.

Yeah, and before that in the late 1950's / early 1960's, Ancel Keys power brokered a deal between Proctor and Gamble and the barely known American Heart Association. Proctor paid the AHA $1.7 Million to say that Proctor's Crisco was good and Butter / Coconut Oil were bad. That still continues to this day, with everything you can find in processed foods containing the bad oils like Sunflower / Safflower / Soybean / Corn / Canola etc...

So, in essence, the corporate owned AHA has been killing people since it's inception and people were none the wiser. I grew up on Margarine, I had no idea until Uncle Al Gore invented the Internet.

Yeah, which didn't exist until recently. Sure, we wanted to see the Girls, but didn't try to get into the locker room. Even if we were extremely perverted and tried, we would have gotten the tar beaten out of us by a Wrestling coach or something like that. Now, it's "Come on in, no problem here, when we are done exploiting the Girls, we can all go shop at Target"...

That kid in your scenario couldn't "switch" back and join the Football team, he would be turned into pulp... He would have to move far away.

I dunno. Bruce Jenner was a world famous athlete, got plenty of attention. I'm sure the attention probably encourages many, maybe lures some, and there's a weird cultural thing going on too where a lot of things get lumped into the "trans" umbrella that aren't really (by the way, if you go back and look at hair metal bands in the 80s, they all look a bit like drag queens)...but I think it's not inconceivable that approximately one out of a thousand people has actual gender dysphoria, and now has a relatively acceptable way to treat it.

It's also a sensational topic so we hear about it way out of proportion to how often it really affects anyone. You can go months and years, maybe your whole life without wondering "Is this person I'm talking to a man or a woman?" or "Should this person be in the bathroom I'm in?" but if you look at the internet it seems as if it's the most pressing issue of the day. It isn't.

Portion sizes are a big thing too. Food is abundant and cheap, so even poor people can afford to eat lots of it.

On the other hand I just tried looking up how many calories people used to eat a long time ago (I looked at middle ages & prehistory) and apparently it was between 2000-3000 per day so I dunno, shrug.

Air fried pickles not worth the trouble and clean-up. Pickle slices weren't uniform so some were crisp, some tough and some soggy. I've never had them in a restaurant so didn't know what to expect. I suspect they need to be deep fried. I hope the air fryer will do frozen breaded okra though. If not I have a Fry Baby somewhere aronud here.

Yeah, I think he did it to have all the attention focused on that and not the car accident in which he killed a lady.

Yeah, which is a Mental problem.

It wouldn't be a pressing issue if they would just keep to themselves. I don't care what they do with their lives, but getting up and preaching in crowds about their "rights" like Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh is insane. They have every right we do, and more considering the "gender neutral" bathrooms in Target and other places.

Montana's Governor just banned Drag Queens from reading to kids in publicly funded schools and libraries. If you're 18, do whatever you want. If you're a little kid, you shouldn't be exposed to that garbage any more than you should be exposed to XXX porn.

It isn't just the calories, it is the type of calories we're eating. It isn't just calories in, calories out. Sugars and carbs get stored as fat. Also, my Great Grand Parents were farmers, in the days before a lot of mechanization. My grandfather, their son, was a plumber. My dad was an industrial electrician and on his feet most of the day. I drive a key board. My calories get consumed by walking and bike riding in a typical day, not from physical labor.

Drag Queens from reading to kids
A whole law about drag queens reading to kids? Seems like a hollow political statement that says "I read the news/social media too much and get more worked up over a silly thing happening on the other side of the country than what's going on in my own backyard. Oh and f#@% the Constitution." Don't vote for that guy, it sounds like he doesn't have his head screwed on straight.

Personally I don't see the big deal. If a drag queen wants to read to kids, fine. You only get so much time with your kids before they grow too cool to be seen with you and then move out, why spend it worrying about whether a drag queen might be allowed to read a book to them? Haha people really can be quite stupid.

I drive a key board.
Me too, and I eat as much as I want (which is a lot) but I'm not fat. I guess my N=1 case study suggests the real culprit is sugar, then:

Soda/pop, Starbucks milkshake-accinos, and other sugar-loaded crap that's part of many people's daily diet, and just isn't part of mine.

It's not the other side of the Country, it is happening here. They aren't reading Dr. Seuss to the kids, they are subjecting kids to LGBTVDSTDHIV+-33GTERHSBFET garbage. I don't know how anyone would approve of Adult Males pretending to be Female and subjecting little kids to the predators that they are, but you do you.

Like what? And then what happens when the kids are subjected to it? They get brainwashed into growing up and becoming drag queens? Please. I don't think a crappy book is going to ruin any kids' lives. Maybe it'll ruin story hour, and then the kids won't want to go anymore. The problem solves itself.

I get little cards in the mail sometimes alerting about ACTUAL child sex offenders in the area. I am not worried about men who like putting on makeup and high heels.

What do you mean "like what"??? Do you think they are reading Mary Poppins to them? They are reading gay tranny switcheroo crap to them... Kids won't want to go anymore? Hopefully not, but their braindead parents drag them there.

"Actual child sex offenders"... Yeah, Drag Queens are perfectly sane and NOT attracted to little kids... "Cheers to the ones who lick us where we pee"... Yep, 100% normal.

What do you mean "like what"???
I mean, like what books? Can you give examples? Titles? You said "gay tranny switcheroo crap" -- are there books matching this description, and if so, what effect do they have on kids that parents should be worried about? If you'd been read such a book when you were a kid, what effect do you think it'd have had on you?

Yeah, Drag Queens are perfectly sane and NOT attracted to little kids...
Drag queens is a whole subculture thing within gay culture. I don't know much about it, but I don't have any reason to think drag queens would be more likely attracted to little kids than average. If you have some conclusive data or something on that, maybe I can be persuaded otherwise.

As a parent you have to decide what is worth your time and energy to worry about. There's always gonna be stuff that journalists and activists get paid to tell you to worry about. If it's not drag queens, it's heavy metal or rap music, or violent video games, or too many skinny women on TV, or whatever. The common denominator might either be people who think kids are helpless blobs, or maybe people who get off on worrying.

So......

I put a dresser with a broken drawer (needs reglued) out at the end of my driveway, and posted it for free 3 days ago. I had 1300 views, 124 saves, and I got around 20 messages...... and not 1 person picked the stupid thing up. So now, I either have to destroy it and put it in the dumpster that was delivered today or take it somewhere. Its only a 4 yard dumpster, I wasn't planning on putting this dumb thing in it.

Yeah, that matches my experience trying to sell/give away stuff online too.

The only thing wrong with the dresser is one drawer needs to be reglued? Dang. Too bad you're not a couple hours further northwest!

Today I cut support pieces for the drawers for the flat-pack dresser I'm frankensteining with real wood.
